andywestham, seeing as you've seen all the change in football from one extreme to the other your post reflects that and is excellent without one tinge of having a pop at those that still want to go. I just hope you get some sort of spark for football again to bring you back at some stage.

I'm glad there are loads of people renewing their season tickets and that lots of people can still be arsed because the team needs the support of those who are loyal by means of their turning up week in week out despite the results/stadium/owners/players/manager etc.
I'm in the same boat as Leonard. Over the last few seasons football in general, particularly the Premier League variety has begun to leave me cold. And it's not because I'm harping back to the good old days of being bricked while walking back to the station or standing on dangerous terracing whilst being pelted with bottles of piss.
Football could have gone in the direction of being attractive to all comers whilst encouraging new fans and accommodating those getting older and allowing those who want to safely stand and sing and those who want to sit and watch (or who have no choice but to do so because of age/disability etc).
Instead what it's done is become this massive media circus, and we are just the latest in an on going line of clubs that have little by little become absorbed by this monster.
I love this club but I hate what it's become and the move to the OS and the whole West Ham London thing have just taken away the soul of it for me.
I hope everyone gets their move after renewing, I really do, but I cant see it happening to everyone's satisfaction for a long time to come, and I can also see the empty seats being a fixture for a long time to come.
Mine will be empty next season for the first time in over 30 seasons because I have had enough, for the time being, not just with West Ham London, but the whole football thing at this level.
So yeah, I'm arsed enough to write this spouting bollocks and to get the hump at results but I'm not willing to give more of my time and money to something that resembles less of the club I fell in love with in 1968 with every ridiculous Facebook post or similar farcical public humiliation.

Yes, in modern football a foreign police force now has to give an excuse for steaming into an English teams support.
I much preferred when they didn't have to make an excuse at all and it hardly got reported.
